Today in my tiny village there is an election. My father was involved politics for most of his life. He served as mayor for 20 years, undefeated. He loved politics but was never political. Growing up we never had a sign in our yard, he never mouthed off about his beliefs or opinions. He was fair, honest and listened- that’s what made people trust him. He was true.
Today would be the first election in 48 yrs that he will not cast a vote. This is a hot election- he would’ve been all over it.
I was given this today as a gift from a coworker. This year was the first year of working together- we immediately hit it off and have become good friends. She’s kind, quiet and a bit of an old soul. She’s the perfect friend- not high maintenance, not a head case. We share stories about life & raising children and laugh a lot. Today’s joke was, “thank God for clothes”
The card reads,
“To my dear friend,
Who brightens my days, sheds perspective, and makes me laugh!
So lucky to have you!
Enjoy!”
I have a lot of lovely people in my life, but this one person in particular is the tops.
Looking forward to reading this!

I will always reblog this:
Ryan and coffee. The only thing missing is a chocolate chip cookie and it would be heaven.

Mam? MAM?
Hey, (much) young(er) cashier at Walmart, I may be 40 but I’m not going down without a fight.
