Is every house with a little girl bursting at the seams with the FROZEN soundtrack? She has been singing Let It Go and Do you Want To Build A Snowman nonstop for days…. and every time she sings it I tear up. She’s a little off key with a raspy voice and very sincere.
Henry came home yesterday with a new joke he learned in the lunchroom:
H- “What’s a cheap kind of meat?”
Me- “Frog legs?…. I don’t know, what?”
H- “Deer balls…they’re under a buck!”
Laughter, giggles and blushed cheeks. I tell him that’s a good one but he can only repeat it to his father and his uncle….once and then tuck it into his memory bank until he’s much older.
I’m in love with Netflix……Take this Waltz, Good ‘Ol Freda, Sing to Me the Songs That Say I Love You. So much good stuff.
Hello, it’s been a short time.
I’m waiting for my chocolate cake to finish baking so I can take Blue for a quick walk before the kids get off the bus. We had 7+ inches of snow last weekend. It’s almost 50 and sunny. I think things are starting to turn.
I have new neighbors. They have big dogs that run loose, chainsaws, and like to fight. Things are anything but boring around here. A fence or a moving truck is a question I ask myself often.
It’s funny how I haven’t been putting too much on here and I loose some people. Easy come, easy go.
Hope everyone is good.
For the love of God and all things bright and beautiful……
when will you return?
Reblogged for proof that God does answer prayers.
See you in the summer.
Someone To Watch Over Me - Amy Winehouse
(Ella Fitzgerald cover)
This boy…….is turning into a fine young man. He’s off to play the tuba in the All County band concert today. He’s wearing a belt and my father’s tie. He told me he didn’t want to wear a winter hat because he didn’t want to mess up his hair. God love him.
Last night I over heard Hen talking to Blue. I love hearing the way his voice changes into a really high, soft, gentle tone- it’s sweet… much like the way one would speak to a baby or small child.
Henry: "Oh Blue, you’re so cute! You look just like your Mommy"
In our family we refer to Blue and Ranger as kid’s brother and sister- this makes me their “Mommy”
Me: "Henry, what did you say?"
Henry: "Oh, I was just telling Blue how cute she is"
Me: "You said she looks like her Mom. DO you think she looks like me?"
Henry: "well, yeah…..I don’t know what it is….I think it’s your nose or something."
Henry: "I think it’s because I love you both so much, that’s why"
*Kids can be so darn cute sometimes
